My last promotion,
New Title: Retired!

After much thought, I've decided to retire.

To be honest, retirement came a little earlier than I originally planned. But as I looked at where life was taking me, the timing simply felt right.

I’ve been fortunate to spend my career doing work I genuinely enjoyed alongside people I truly respected. The relationships I built, the challenges I tackled, and the experiences I gained have meant more to me than I can express. I’m grateful to everyone who was part of that journey.

Sometimes, though, life presents opportunities that are worth considering. My wife and I spent a lot of time talking about what this next chapter could look like, and together we decided it was the right time to embrace it.

I got everyone in the office Chick-Fil-A for breakfast. I wanted to do something and say thank you for everything.

My Last Email

Hi everyone,

I’m writing to share some personal news: as you probably have heard I will be retiring effective Friday 2/28/2026.  After a great deal of thought, the time feels right for me to step into the next chapter of life.  So… I’m officially Promoted to Retiree or you could say I’m turning in My Badge for a Beach Chair.

Working alongside all of you has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career.  I’m incredibly grateful for the collaboration, the support, the challenges we’ve solved together, and the friendships built along the way.  Everyone has made every day meaningful, and I’ll carry those memories with me.

I have been working with the different department heads for the last two months to ensure a smooth transition.  Please don’t hesitate to reach out if there’s anything you need from me during this period.

Thank you again for everything. I’m excited for what’s ahead, but I will truly miss working with such a talented and dedicated group of people.

Wishing you all continued success,

Ken Nisewanger

Retirement Party

This really meant a lot to me,  My boss and co-workers coming out for me, or was it the free food and drinks. Hmm, I’ll have to think about that.

I had a really great time and will miss everyone.

So, here I am—a retiree.

While I’m closing one chapter, I’m excited to see what comes next. I look forward to spending more time with family and friends, pursuing interests that have been waiting on the sidelines, and enjoying the freedom to see where life leads.

To everyone I’ve had the privilege of working with over the years, thank you. You’ve made my career both rewarding and memorable, and I’ll always appreciate the time we shared.

Here’s to new adventures and the next chapter.

Hi Ken,

As a long-time member of the Meisner Electric family, your contributions—especially since moving into the office—are appreciated now more than ever.

You have been a vital part of our history and a company that has always pushed boundaries and refused to settle for the status quo. Your forward-thinking approach has left a lasting mark on all of us.

My sincere wish for you is a long, healthy, and deeply enjoyable retirement. You’ve certainly earned it.

Best regards,

☹

I couldn’t let you escape into retirement without sending you a proper thank you note.

First of all… congratulations!! And shame on you!! No more payroll deadlines, no more last-minute surprises, and no more “quick questions” from me (well… I’ll try 😊).

Jokes aside, I truly want to thank you for everything you’ve taught me. When I started, I knew very little about payroll and today, most of what I know is because of your patience, your guidance, and your willingness to always help, no matter how busy things were.

We shared a lot of stressful moments.. but also, a lot of laughs. And honestly, those laughs made all the difference on the crazy days.

You were always there when it came to work questions, problem-solving, of just figuring things out – and I’ll always appreciate that.

I wish you a retirement full of rest, fun, trave, video games, late wake-ups…and the joy of never having to hear the word “payroll” again.

You’ll definitely be missed around here.

Thank you for everything, truly!
